Explore Long Ridge Lodge

Getting Here

For those that want to escape the summer beach action, the Lodge is located only a couple kilometres away. A good 30 to 40 minute walk, or a six or seven minute drive gets you back from the beach to your home away from home, surrounded with beautiful coniferous trees, and a view of Long Ridge Mountain. It’s nice to have a view of green trees in the winter too!

We are located at the western most edge of the Revelstoke Rain Forest, about halfway between Calgary and Vancouver. We can have 10 to 15 feet of snow annually, and lots of rain in other times of the year. We also have fire bans in the summer when there’s extreme heat and a dry forest.

We are located about 160 km north east of Kamloops, about a 3 1/2 hour drive.
From Vancouver it’s about 7 1/2 hours and 9 hours from Calgary.

01

From Kamloops follow the Trans Canada Hwy East for about 65 km. From Salmon Arm follow the Trans Canada Hwy West for about 50 km

02

Approx. 7 km West of Sorrento and 10 km East of Chase on the Trans-Canada Highway, take the exit for the Anglemont-Squilax Hwy. Follow exit to cross the Squilax Bridge over the Little River. This gets you to the ‘North Shore’ (of Shuswap Lake)

03

Follow the Anglemont-Squilax Hwy for about 80 km or so to the end, past Scotch Creek and Celista, all the way to St. Ives, at the end of the pavement

04

Continue on the Seymour Main Forestry Service Road from 0 Km to 41 km.

05

At 41 km, turn right (south) to cross the bridge at the Seymour River.

06

Once across the bridge, you are on Quast Road in Seymour Arm. Stay on Quast Road for about 1.2 km past the Seymour River Bridge. Do not turn right

07

Turn left onto Ireland Road going east towards Long Ridge Mountain.

08

Go approx. 600 metres down Ireland Road to the end.

09

Long Ridge Lodge is on the left (north) side of the road.

10

About 50 feet up the third driveway will get you to the apartment entrances at the back (north side) of the building.

11

Further up the driveway (about 300 ft) sits the small rustic cabin at the top of our hill.

Welcome

When driving up on the Angelmont-Squilax Highway, or “the north shore” as most everyone else refers to it, you realize it’s time to slow down when you have to stop at the one lane bridge over Scotch Creek to let the on-coming traffic trough. The road is paved all the way to St. Ives, then 41 km of gravel logging road takes you to Seymour Arm.

It is approximately two hours driving time, under normal driving conditions, from the Trans-Canada Highway to get into the community of Seymour Arm. Half of that time will be spent travelling 41 kilometres of gravel logging road, each kilometre marker being just as important as any highway road sign.

To get to downtown Seymour Arm from Long Ridge Lodge, turn right from our driveway and head west back down Ireland Road to Quast Road, then turn left going south to the beach. The next intersection about a kilometre up the hill will be the Community Hall then another kilometre or so will take you to Daniels Store and Marina on the beach in Bug House Bay. That’s basically the start of Silver Beach.

A short ten minute walk (or one kilometre drive) will get you from the store to “downtown,” where you’ll find more of Silver Beach. That’s also where you’ll find the community wharf, the water purification plant, the renovated pub, the picturesque old hotel across from Don Fink Park where the horseshoe pits are and the playground with swings.

Enjoy our little town.
